<p>Praia D'El Rey is the flagship course of the company by the same name, the course is a mixture of links and pine forest and is regularly voted as one of Portugal number one golfing destinations. Less than an hour from Lisbon and only 15 minutes from the world heritage site of Obidos which is one of Portugal oldest medieval cities. The course is second to none and always in peak condition and with stunning views of the Atlantic coast, it is the perfect place to visit for a golf break in Portugal.</p> <p>The courses stunning location has regularly put it in the worlds top 100 golf courses and it should be on every golfer's bucket list to play. The course design is a challenge and a delight at the same time, the fairways are peppered with deep pothole bunkers, like all true links courses, and the large undulating greens make for great breaking putts.</p> <p>The wide and generous fairways mean that you can really open your shoulders and hit long drives and the extension to the 17th par 5 now reaches 624 yards and earning it the title of the 2nd longest par 5 in Portugal and Europe at the time of writing this.</p> <p>The whole resort is set up for the perfect golf break and is now one of Europes number one destinations, the complex has 6 restaurants Tempera, Contato, Emprata, The Pool Bar, Mare and of course The Club House. <p>This course has been totally transformed by the American course designer Robert Trent Jones Jr. He has created a mixture of parkland with authentic Links style. The 27 holes are laid out on the side of a southfacing hill overlooking the Bay of Lagos. It is questionably the most attractive location of all the golf courses in the Algarve. The views as you play your round are quite breathtaking.On the Palmares Course there are three 9 hole circuits the Alvor Course, the Lagos Course, and the Praia Course. The first nine holes run through woodland and the down to the beach with lovely views of the Alvor Estuary and the ocean. The Lagos nine take the player down to the beach and again with superb view. The last nine holes are mainly located on the actual beach among the sand dunes with a par5 of 550 metres creating a good challenge.</p> Palmares Golf Club

<p>Silves is a serene spot at the foot of the Monchique mountain, but it is anything other than a walk in the park, a drive at the opening hole has to flirt with water hazards on both flanks.This course is for all players low handicaps will find it a serious challenge to come in under par, While high handicaps (with concentration) will be able to enjoy this lovely course. <p>One of the three courses in the heart of Quinta Do Lago, and nestled within the privacy and security of the Ria Formosa nature reserve. The North Course was totally redesigned in 2014, by renowned architect Beau Welling, in conjunction with former European Ryder Cup captain Paul McGinley. The new layout has been built to the highest specifications, with an investment of &euro9million. All the greens, tees, bunkers, irrigation and drainage systems and cart paths have been rebuilt using innovative technology. Four sets of tees have been introduced on each hole to accommodate players of all levels. Golfers are challenged by a combination of undulating greens, wellpositioned bunkers and water hazards. A lowcut Bermuda grass approach has been introduced around greens to create recovery shot options, therefore encouraging all levels of play. Through the introduction of seasonal rough grass and the planting of specimen trees, the aesthetics and environmental impact of the par72 course has significantly improved. The renovation has allowed for water recycling, solar energy while the grassy areas will encourage new ecosystems.</p> Quinta do Lago (North)

<p>Christy OConnor Jnr golf course, opened in 2008 located at Amodoeira 4km inland from Armaçao de Pera. A slightly hilly course therefore a buggy is recommended.The Amondeira OConnor is a very long golf course with wide fairways and large fast greens with lots of bunkers. The first hole describes this course, very open and with big greens. This course would suit players with a medium or medium low handicap and is a fairly friendly course for ladies enabling them to enjoy a shorter distance with 697m between the red and yellow tees.
