Winter golf breaks on the Algarve
Algarve is well known as a golfer paradise, with more than 40 golf courses around this area. The biggest advantage is the good weather, all year round sunshine. Thanks to the great conditions you can play during the winter when everywhere else is not possible in Europe. You can choose for a long weekend or few days golf break because flights from the UK is easy and fast to Faro. Even if your partner or wife doesn`t play golf, they can enjoy the sunshine, relaxing at the beach or Spa. There are a lot of activities you can both try after a round of golf.
#1 What is the weather during the winter?
You might need a jumper in your bag, but the weather during the winter it is perfect for golf. Around 22-25 degree and sunshine almost guaranteed. It can be windier or sometimes cloudy but still ideal for playing golf. You don´t need warmer clothes than a typical sunny autumn day.

Algarve has 3 main holiday destinations: Lagos, Albufeira, Vilamoura
Lagos has amazing beaches and a special vibe, a spiritual peaceful place. You should know the weather relatively windy in this area. There are few golf options around Lagos, Penina or Palmares Golf Course are providing a great challenge.
Albufeira is a great option for a golfer who also wants nightlife. Salgados is a great golf course however it is near the beach so most of the time windy, with challenging water hazards.
Vilamoura is home to lot of famous golf courses, for example, Victoria Golf Course where the Portugal Masters usually takes place. There are several restaurants and bar around the marina to try Portuguese food and wine.

You can find easy golf courses for beginners to challenging, advanced levels too. If you prefer golf courses surrounded by nature or a villa. There are different options if you prefer walking or using buggy too.

It is easier to travel without your clubs and you don´t need to worry about any damage. You have many options for club hire here in Algarve at a reasonable price. It is also a good chance to challenge yourself and see how you play with other brands.
